Meet Her DJ Club: A Woman-Led Space for Music and Community
Her DJ Club (HDC) was created for her by her – a safe space where Women can come together, learn the fundamentals of DJing, and support one another. HDC is dedicated to creating a supportive, women-led space where we can learn together while fostering community and breaking down barriers.
At HDC, we believe that safe supportive spaces are essential for women to truly thrive. We uplift women to inspire confidence, collaboration, and creativity within the community, and build lasting relationships that go beyond the workshop.
We’re so proud to have HDC’s very own Healing Hottie, Baby Lindo, ECTO and Nikki Diamonds representing at this year’s MINTED SF activation.

More About HER DJ Club
What’s the origin story of your crew? How did you come together? Who were the founding members? What inspired your name?
Established in 2024, HDC was founded by murcutian – a Bay Area selector born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District. After having a successful beginning to her career, she had a strong desire to pay it forward through teaching the fundamentals of DJing to others. The intention was to create a space for women with a profound love and understanding of music in search of a safe place where they could learn the basics of DJing from other women DJ’s. The name is simple: They have “his” and we have “hers”. For HER by HER baby!
How would you describe the HER DJ Club Community? What vibes can people expect coming to one of your parties?
We’re a very eclectic group of real music enthusiasts 🙂 Everyone has such a special ear for selection and you can always expect to hear sounds from all over the world and from different eras. We’re always ready to make people dance! Every chance we get to play for the people is a chance to celebrate in community.
Who or what influences your sets the most? Genres, eras, mentors, movements — what shapes your sound?
It’s hard to say because there’s so many of us now (so beautiful) with over 20 women and counting, there’s plenty of influence everywhere we look. But most of us, if not all, have a deep love for the remixer community. Our founder jokes about how she was born (as a DJ) in SoundCloud. We love Peggy Gou, KAYTRANADA, Honey Dijon, and Natasha Diggs. Music ranging anywhere from 90’s R&B to Y2K Classics, Hyphy, Reggaeton and Cumbia plus so much more.

How has the Bay Area shaped your identity as a crew?
Starting HDC in Oakland was very intentional. Everytime we gathered at music events, the lack of women representation on DJ lineups was very loud yet we were seeing how the women that were up there reppin’ were always so fire! And we wanted to see more of that in the Bay. As soon as we started, the reception was amazing. It was clear that this was needed in our community and we’re so grateful for the amount of love and support we’ve received. It motivates us to keep on growing!
How do you stay connected to your community outside of the booth? Where and when can we catch you outside of MINTED SF?
A lot of us have formed friendships outside of HDC and hang out at music events, go support one another at gigs, stay in touch via Discord and dinner dates 🙂 We currently don’t have any residencies (YET) but you subscribe to our newsletter at herdjclub.com or visit our IG page @herdjclub to stay up to date on all our future projects.
